Inspecting and paying safely
We check every listing, but not every car. A few habits keep you safe.
- See it first: never pay before you have inspected the car in person.
- Meet in public: and take someone with you.
- Check its history: a PPSR search shows finance owing, write-offs and theft.
- Pay safely: use a bank transfer you can trace, and complete the transfer of registration together.
Walk away from anyone who offers to pay more than you asked, wants to arrange shipping, or pushes you to talk somewhere else before seeing the car.
